Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position in an outpatient surgery center setting, requiring a minimum of 3 years of PACU experience and a strong ophthalmology background.

Details

• Position is located in an outpatient surgery center adjacent to the main acute care hospital facility
• PACU Phase I and Phase II experience required
• Strong ophthalmology background required for this role
• Patient ratio is 1:2
• Day shift schedule: 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• No weekend requirements
• Post-shift call required from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM; frequency varies based on departmental need
• Charting is done in Epic; experience required
• Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required; pending licenses are not accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 3 years of PACU experience required
• First-time travelers may be considered with a minimum of 5 years of PACU experience
• Phase I and Phase II PACU experience required
• Ophthalmology experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• RNs are required to wear Royal Blue scrubs
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; scheduling requests due to additional outside employment will not be considered
• Block scheduling is not available for this position
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates; candidates within 50 miles may be considered at a local rate
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
