Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of IR experience (2 preferred) for a 13-week contract at a large academic, Level I Trauma acute care hospital.
Details
- Work in a 9-room Interventional Radiology department at a large, short-term acute care teaching and Level I Trauma facility with 1,259 staffed beds
- Procedures include central venous catheter placements/replacements, diagnostic angiograms, Y-90 mappings/treatments, gastrostomy tubes, percutaneous nephrostomy tubes, peripheral artery disease leg cases, and other vascular-related procedures
- Daily caseload of 6–8 procedures per technologist
- Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–6:00 PM, with one Saturday shift (8:00 AM–4:00 PM) per 13-week assignment
- Weekend call coverage runs Friday 4:00 PM through Monday 7:30 AM; assigned 1–2 times per 13-week contract
- Backup shift assignment expected approximately once per week; as a procedural area, shifts may extend beyond the scheduled end time
- Floating within the facility and within clinical scope of care is required; no floating to sister facilities
- Charting in Epic; experience required
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience required; 2 years preferred
- First-time travelers accepted with a minimum of 2 years of IR experience
- ARRT (R) and BLS required; ARRT (VI) preferred
- C-arm and contrast experience required
- Experience with Siemens or GE ultrasound preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Valid Missouri state license required for consideration; Illinois candidates may submit with a pending IL license
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Scrub colors are black, red, or white
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation
- Former permanent employees of BJC facilities must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Allied travelers may work up to 12 months before a mandatory 6-month break in service is required
- Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
