Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of IR experience, ARRT (R) certification, and C-arm and contrast experience for a 13-week assignment at a large acute care teaching hospital.
Details
- Work in a 9-room Interventional Radiology department at a large short-term acute care, teaching/trauma-level hospital with 1,259 staffed beds
- Daily caseload of 6–8 procedures per technologist
- Procedures include central venous catheter placements/replacements, diagnostic angiograms, Y-90 mappings and treatments, gastrostomy tubes, percutaneous nephrostomy tubes, peripheral artery disease leg cases, and other vascular-related procedures
- Charting via Epic; experience with Epic required
- 4x10-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–6:00 PM, with one Saturday shift (8:00 AM–4:00 PM) per 13-week assignment
- Weekend call coverage spans Friday 4:00 PM through Monday 7:30 AM; travelers are assigned weekend call 1–2 times per 13-week contract
- Travelers may also be assigned a once-weekly backup shift, as procedures in this area may extend beyond the scheduled end of shift
- Floating permitted within the facility and within the technologist's clinical scope of care; no floating to sister facilities required
- Block scheduling is not available for this position
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience required; 2 years preferred
- Current ARRT (R) and BLS certifications required; ARRT (VI) preferred
- C-arm and contrast experience required
- Experience with Siemens equipment and GE ultrasound preferred
- Valid MO state license required at time of consideration; candidates with a pending IL license may be considered with appropriate notation
- License required if applicable
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- First-time travelers are accepted with a minimum of 2 years of IR experience
Additional Information
- Scrub colors are limited to black, red, or white
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
- Allied travelers may work at this facility for up to 12 months, after which a 6-month break in service is required before returning
- Former permanent employees of this facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Parking is available at $67/month for day and rotating shift workers; night shift parking is free; public transportation via Metrolink (rail) or bus is also available
