Description

American Traveler is hiring a Sonographer with at least 1 year of experience, ARDMS or RVT certification, and OB and arterial extremity Doppler experience for an acute care radiology/ultrasound unit.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting in a radiology/ultrasound unit with 3 ultrasound rooms
• Studies include general ultrasound, OB, small parts, and vascular ultrasound (upper and lower venous and arterial)
• Average of 35 scans/studies per day across 24 hours
• 12-hour day shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM on a 3-2-2 rotating schedule
• Every other weekend required; no on-call requirement
• Holiday rotation coverage may be required
• No floating to other departments required
• EMR: Cerner (Community Works); PACS: Intellirad/Intelliconnect
• Primary equipment: Siemens S2000

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of sonography experience
• ARDMS certification and/or RVT (via ARDMS) required
• Current BLS required
• WV state license required if applicable
• OB and arterial extremity Doppler experience required
• IV insertion skills required
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Driver's license copy required for consideration
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• WV CARES compliance required prior to start
• 5-shift orientation with a preceptor provided
• Radiologist on-site until 5:00 PM, then on call; VRAD covers remote interpretation from 2:00 AM to 6:00 AM
• Imaging Director and Manager available Monday through Friday during daylight hours and reachable by phone at all times
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Travelers who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying
• Travelers may not work within the WVU system for more than one cumulative year before taking a 2-year break
• Any color of clean, professional scrubs is acceptable; permanent staff wear Emerald Green if travelers wish to match
• Two supervisor and peer references required for consideration, including a skills checklist completed within the past year
