Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuroscience Med/Surg night shift position in Saint Louis, MO, requiring at least 1 year of acute care Med/Surg and Neuro experience and an active MO or compact RN license.

Details

• Inpatient neuroscience/neurosurgical unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes stroke, seizures, MS, back/head/spinal injuries, and other neurological diagnoses and post-neurosurgery cases
• Patient ratio of 1:5–6
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Weekend coverage required as needed (standard expectation is every other full weekend — Saturday and Sunday)
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required as needed within scope
• EMR: Epic
• FIT test required on site
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required — no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of assignment unless renewal documentation is provided
• Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient acute care Med/Surg and Neuro experience required
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs not accepted)
• No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Utilizes the nursing process to deliver patient care on a neurosurgical unit, including coordinating care with other departments and evaluating the effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers
• Willingness to take on occasional Charge RN responsibilities is required
• Black scrubs required
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate
• Candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before a minimum 1-year separation or transfer to a facility outside the 50-mile radius is required
• Up to 5 days of RTO per 13-week period is allowed but must be made up during the assignment
• Candidates should expect to work at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day)
