Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical ICU (MICU) position in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of experience with 1 year in ICU and an active AL or compact RN license.
Details
- 16-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) providing complex monitoring and treatment of adult patients
- Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 36 or 48 hours per week available
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required as needed by the facility
- Floating to other units and hospitals required
- EMR: Meditech (experience preferred but not required)
Requirements
- Active AL state or compact RN license required — no temporary or pending licenses accepted
- No hits on license (past or current) allowed
- Certifications required: BLS and ACLS (AHA or Red Cross), NIH Stroke Scale
- Associate degree in nursing (ADN) required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year recent ICU experience; candidates with 18 months total experience and 1 year in specialty may be considered
- Nursys license verification required
- Active state or compact RN license must be in hand at time of consideration
- Two professional references from within the last year required
- Current driver's license required
- SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes in a high-acuity environment
- Solid navy scrubs required
- Timekeeping system: Centricity
- All ICU RNs are required to complete an on-site competency test in addition to an online pre-test prior to starting
- Virtual orientation will include competency-based modules — no HealthStream modules required prior to start
- PALS certification preferred if working in a pediatric unit
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rates with no radius restrictions
