Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CICU) night shift position in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

Details

• 8-bed high-acuity Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) within a hospital setting
• Receives patients from the Cath Lab, ED, and Acute Care areas requiring specialized cardiac care
• Adult cardiac patient population with complex monitoring and treatment needs
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 36 or 48 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Floating required to other units and hospitals
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• EMR: Meditech (experience not required)

Requirements

• Active RN license in Alabama or via compact (no temporary or pending licenses accepted; no prior or current hits on license)
• Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS (AHA or Red Cross)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year of recent CICU or cardiovascular ICU experience
• PALS preferred if floating to a pediatric unit
• Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration
• Current driver's license required for consideration
• SSN required for consideration

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• All ICU RNs are required to complete an on-site skills/competency test in addition to an online pre-test
• Virtual orientation is provided and includes competency-based modules — no pre-start HealthStream modules required
• Timekeeping system: Centricity
