Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with critical care and emergency care experience for a night shift travel assignment at an acute-care hospital in Tallahassee, FL.
Details
- Work in the Respiratory Therapy department of a 266-bed acute-care hospital offering a wide range of specialty services including Pediatric ER, ICU, Behavioral Health, Cancer Center, Heart & Vascular Center, and Stroke Center
- Rotating position covering all inpatient units, including two 10-bed ICUs
- Procedures include aerosol treatments, BiPAP management, and ventilator management
- Equipment includes Puritan Bennett 980 ventilators, Vapotherm, Philips V60+, Siemens EPOC bedside ABG analyzers, and BiPAPs
- Documentation system: Meditech
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Minimum of three 12-hour shifts per week with rotating weekends
- 13-week assignment
Requirements
- Active RRT license and certification required; license required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy, with critical care and emergency care experience required
- Must have active experience in the role within the last 6 months
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP (AHA or ARC accepted; no certifications may expire within the first 30 days of the start date)
- Two professional references required (due to Florida placement)
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no Canadian SSN accepted
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — no local candidates accepted
Additional Information
- RTs rotate through all floors and both ICUs, working at the top of their licenses performing tasks such as intubation, arterial line insertion, and bedside bronchoscopy assist
- The RT team participates in daily interdisciplinary rounding and collaborates with multiple clinical disciplines
- Team consists of approximately 30 experienced respiratory therapists with varying levels of experience
- Patient experience standards include use of AIDET communication framework
- Scrubs required
