Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with critical care and emergency care experience for a 13-week night shift assignment at an acute-care hospital.
Details
- Work in the Respiratory Therapy department of a 266-bed acute-care hospital
- Rotate through inpatient units including two 10-bed ICUs
- Care for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients as within scope of practice
- Perform aerosol treatments, Bipap management, and ventilator management
- Use various ventilators, Bipaps, Puritan Bennett 980 ventilators, Vapotherm, Phillips V60+, and Siemens EPOC bedside ABG analyzers
- Documentation completed in Meditech
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Minimum of three 12-hour shifts per week with rotating weekends
- Floats throughout all inpatient units
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- ICU and ER critical adult care experience with weekend rotations required
- Level 2 NICU and pediatric care experience within scope
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
- License required if applicable
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
- No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more in the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Join a team of 30 respiratory therapists with varying levels of experience
- RTs work at the top of their license performing tasks such as intubation, arterial line insertion, and bedside bronchoscopy assist
- Participate in daily interdisciplinary nursing unit rounding
- Use AIDET communication framework for patient experience
- Scrubs required as dress code
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, no local candidates accepted
- First-time travelers may be considered
