Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Specialties unit position requiring recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience and a NH or compact RN license.

Details

• Medical Specialties unit within a hospital setting, with unit sizes of 36 and 25 beds
• Nationally recognized Cystic Fibrosis center — adult CF patients requiring admission are cared for on this unit
• Patient population includes those with acute and chronic illnesses such as sepsis, infectious processes, AKI/CKD (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis), diabetes, GI issues, fluid/electrolyte imbalances, alcohol withdrawal, liver disease, substance misuse, endocarditis, heart disease, skin/wound conditions, COPD, flu, pneumonia, and Cystic Fibrosis
• Day/Night rotation schedule, 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Active NH or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma setting
• Experience with chest tubes, trachs, and laryngectomies
• Experience managing IV drips including Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, and amiodarone
• Experience with lines, tubes, and drains for post-surgical patients
• Telemetry experience required
• Complex wound care experience required
• Central line care, maintenance, and blood draw experience required
• 2 manager references required for consideration
