Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Specialties unit position requiring recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience and a NH or compact RN license.
Details
- Medical Specialties unit within a hospital setting, with unit sizes of 36 and 25 beds
- Nationally recognized Cystic Fibrosis center — adult CF patients requiring admission are cared for on this unit
- Patient population includes those with acute and chronic illnesses such as sepsis, infectious processes, AKI/CKD (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis), diabetes, GI issues, fluid/electrolyte imbalances, alcohol withdrawal, liver disease, substance misuse, endocarditis, heart disease, skin/wound conditions, COPD, flu, pneumonia, and Cystic Fibrosis
- Day/Night rotation schedule, 36 hours per week
Requirements
- Active NH or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma setting
- Experience with chest tubes, trachs, and laryngectomies
- Experience managing IV drips including Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, and amiodarone
- Experience with lines, tubes, and drains for post-surgical patients
- Telemetry experience required
- Complex wound care experience required
- Central line care, maintenance, and blood draw experience required
- 2 manager references required for consideration
