Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Surgical Unit position requiring recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience and a NH or compact RN license.

Details

• 32-bed Surgical Unit in a hospital setting, shared with a PCU
• Patient population includes post-surgical cases: vascular, thoracic, colorectal, and general surgery
• Common diagnoses include ARDS, esophagectomies, Whipple procedures, and sepsis
• RN-to-patient ratio is 4:1 on days and 5:1 on nights
• LNA-to-patient ratio is 1:7-11
• Night shift and day/night rotating schedules available at 36 hours per week
• Floating to other units is expected

Requirements

• Active NH or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma setting
• Experience with chest tubes, trachs, and laryngectomies required
• Experience managing drips including Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, and amiodarone required
• Experience with lines, tubes, and drains for post-surgical patients required
• Telemetry experience required
• Complex wound care experience required
• Central line care, maintenance, and blood draws experience required
• Two managerial references required for consideration
