Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU) position requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring experience and recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 trauma experience.
Details
- 10-bed Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU), the only neuro critical care unit in Northern New England
- Primary Stroke Center managing ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke cases, including thrombectomy, TPA, and emergent evacuations
- Neuro surgery cases include tumor resections and brain/spine abscesses
- Neuro-medical cases include meningitis, encephalitis, and neuromuscular disorders
- 36 hours per week
Requirements
- Active NH or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 trauma experience within the last 2 years required
- Experience with advanced hemodynamic monitoring required
- Experience with ICP monitoring in a SICU or NCCU setting required
- Experience managing ventilated patients required
- Experience with pressors, inotropes, and vasoactive medications required
- Experience assisting with line insertion and maintenance required
- Experience managing lines, tubes, and drains for post-surgical patients required
- Experience with ventriculostomies, lumbar drains, bolts, and EVDs required
- Experience with PA lines and waveform interpretation required
- Two professional references from managers required for consideration
- Candidate must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to a complex neuro patient population including stroke, neurosurgical, and neuro-medical cases
- Local candidates and those residing within a 75-mile radius of the facility are not eligible for this position
