Description
American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week travel contract at a teaching hospital, with a minimum of 2 years of IR experience and active ARRT-R or RCIS certification required.
Details
- Radiology - Special Studies department at a 351-bed teaching hospital with Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center designations
- No trauma designation
- Average of 15 patients per day
- Venous procedures include dialysis lines, ports, TIPS, IVC, and SVC interventions
- Body work includes complex embolizations, thrombectomy, thrombolysis, sclerotherapy, Y90s/SIR-Spheres, biopsies, and various drainage and access procedures
- Team structure includes 1 provider, 4 APPs, and 2 techs per room alongside an RN
- EMR: Epic Encompass; equipment includes Siemens imaging systems, Sonosite Ultrasound, Baxter IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing
- Schedule is either 4x10-hour day shifts (0700–1730) or 5x8-hour day shifts (0800–1630), on a 4–6 week scheduling cycle
- No weekend rotation except for call; on-call requirement is 3–4 call days per month plus weekend call every 5th–6th weekend from Friday end of shift through Monday at 0800
- Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays
- No floating required
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience, with most recent experience within the last year
- Active ARRT-R or RCIS certification required
- BLS and ACLS required
- Active license required if applicable
- Proficiency in scrubbing and assisting in IR procedures, circulating, operating imaging equipment, and managing procedural supplies
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

- Orientation includes facility new employee orientation (NEO) plus a minimum of 2 days of department-specific training
- RTO requests must be approved by the manager
- Candidates who have worked a permanent position at an Advocate Health Southeast (AHSE) facility must be separated for at least 1 year before being eligible
- Black scrubs provided by the hospital
- Free parking on-site
