Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an Emergency Department position in Richlands, VA, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC.

Details

• Work setting is a 175-bed acute care hospital's Emergency Department, located on the first floor
• 16-bed ED unit with a typical patient ratio of 5:1, with pull-to-full-bed capacity
• Patient population includes geriatric, adult, pediatric, and OB patients
• Common cases include acute diagnostic and treatment presentations
• Equipment used includes EKG, ultrasound, LUCAS device, EZ-IO, Omnicell, Medtronic, stretchers, and wheelchairs
• EMR system is MediTech
• Night shift and mid-shift positions available; night shift hours are 7p–7a
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating may include assignment to 1:1 patient observation

Requirements

• Active VA or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (AHA-issued certifications required)
• Minimum education: ADN
• Proficiency in patient assessment, identifying patient needs, and initiating appropriate nursing interventions
• Ability to provide age-appropriate care across geriatric, adult, pediatric, and OB populations
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsible for timely and accurate documentation of medical necessity in the patient medical record
• Any solid color scrub top and pants required; ill-fitting, revealing, see-through, or casual athletic wear (hoodies, t-shirts, sweatshirts, spandex) is not permitted
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel assignment
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates currently employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
• 13-week contract
