Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a short-term acute care hospital in Lancaster, SC, requiring prior travel nursing experience and telemetry skills.

• Short-term acute care hospital with 97 staffed beds
• Med/Surg Telemetry unit serving a general medical-surgical patient population with telemetry monitoring needs
• Patient ratio of 1:6 to 1:7
• Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required to like units with similar patient populations
• Charting via Epic EMR
• Free parking on site
• Royal Blue scrubs required

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact RN license; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have an active license prior to start
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Telemetry experience preferred, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must complete all assigned onboarding modules prior to the start date
• Attendance at staff meetings is required during the assignment
• Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC facility must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs
• Local candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are accepted; non-local candidates are prioritized
• During hurricane season (June through November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
