Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring at least 2 years of experience and active AZ or Compact RN licensure.
Details
- Acute care setting within an Interventional Radiology unit at a Level I Trauma Center
- Body IR cases include chemo embolization, Y-90, GJ tubes, IVC filters, vascular access, angiograms, CT biopsy, ablations, US biopsies, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and stroke treatment
- Outpatient and inpatient population including critical care and telemetry patients
- Unit includes 5 angio rooms, 2 CT scanners, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine
- Pre- and post-procedural care area covering pre-op and recovery of patients post conscious sedation and general anesthesia
- Telemetry monitoring and ventilator management required
- EMR: Cerner
- Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts (Mon–Fri), either 0700–1730 or 0730–1800 based on shift need
- On-call required, averaging 4–5 call shifts per month
- Occasional Saturday shifts, approximately 1–2 per month, with possible holiday coverage as needed
- RN will work in Body IR only and will not be assigned to the neuro endovascular area
- Charge nurse coverage available on unit
- Support staff includes IR techs, CT techs, nuclear medicine techs, and ultrasound techs
- Vascular access team (VAT) available for PICC lines; SWAT available for difficult IV starts
- Respiratory therapy, pharmacy, hospitalist, and intensivist all available 24/7
- 13-week assignment
Requirements
- Active AZ or Compact (NLC) RN license required; pending licenses not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- IR RN experience required; ICU RNs with IR experience will also be considered
- Pre-op and/or PACU or ICU experience required
- Level I Trauma experience required
- Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (active, non-pending); PALS preferred
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (permanent address as confirmed by driver's license)
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
- 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
Additional Information
- Provide pre- and post-procedural nursing care including management of patients recovering from conscious sedation and general anesthesia
- Scrubs are supplied by the facility
- Floor-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts
- RNs must pass the Relias Dysrhythmia exam (basic or advanced) before an offer can be confirmed
- A pass/fail sterile technique test (Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes) is administered on the first day of orientation
- Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates employed PRN through outside firms will be considered
