Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a fast-paced Medical Surgical unit, requiring at least 1 year of surgical nursing experience and the ability to work night shifts every other weekend.

Details

• Inpatient Medical Surgical unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes general surgery, abdominal surgery, urological, orthopedic, spine, bariatric, hysterectomy, and mastectomy cases
• Accepts pediatric surgical patients aged 12 and above depending on procedure
• Night shift schedule: 7PM–7AM (3x12-hour shifts)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to other units is expected at times

Requirements

• Active VA or Compact RN license currently in hand — pending licensure is not accepted
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required, with previous surgical nursing experience
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted

• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed, though effort will be made to group shifts together when possible
• Holiday coverage is expected on a pro-rated basis: work 1 holiday if one falls in the assignment, 1 of 2 if two fall in the assignment, and 2 of 3 if three fall in the assignment
• Any requested time off must be disclosed prior to acceptance of the assignment
