Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a Level IV Trauma Center, requiring charge nurse experience and ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.

Details

• Night shift schedule (7p–7a, 3x12-hour shifts)
• Med/Surg Tele unit within an Acute Care Services Department at a short-term acute care hospital (49 beds)
• Patient population ranges from 1 month of age through end of life, requiring broad clinical competency
• Standard patient ratio of 1:6
• Weekends required — 6 weekend shifts per schedule period
• No on-call required
• No floating between units within this facility; however, travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele RN experience required
• Charge nurse experience required — must be able to assume charge responsibilities independently
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experienced travelers only — first-time travelers will not be considered
• At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Charge nurse responsibilities cover the entire Acute Care Services Department, including both the MS unit and the adult ICU — the charge role is operational/supervisory for the ICU, not direct ICU patient care
• The ICU maintains its own dedicated ICU nurse
• Navy blue scrubs required for RNs
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Minimal RTO is strongly preferred for this position
• Level IV Trauma Center designation
