Description
American Traveler is seeking a Chemo Certified Oncology RN for an Outpatient Infusion Center position requiring Epic experience and a current NY RN license.
Details
- Outpatient infusion center setting providing IV therapy and specialty medication administration
- Patient population includes those requiring chemotherapy, biologic therapies, IVIG, blood transfusions, hydration, iron infusions, therapeutic phlebotomy, and a wide range of specialty infusion treatments
- Treatments include IV antibiotics, antifungals, steroids, immune globulin therapy, specialty medications for conditions such as Crohn's, RA, MS, ALS, asthma, and anemia
- Involves placement and maintenance of PICC lines, central venous access devices, ports, fistulas, and catheters
- Patient teaching responsibilities include self-administration of medications such as Humira, Lovenox, and Hepatitis C treatments
- No on-call responsibilities
- Epic EMR experience is required
Requirements
- Active NY RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), ONS Chemotherapy Certification, and OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
- Minimum 2 years of recent outpatient oncology and infusion experience required
- Peripheral IV insertion experience required
- Port, fistula, and catheter experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- IV Certification highly preferred
- BSN preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- A 14-panel drug screen is required upon offer acceptance
- One supervisory reference signed within the past two years is required for consideration
- Skills checklist pertinent to the position (current within 1 year) required for consideration
- Permanent address matching a valid Driver's License or State ID required for consideration
Additional Information
- Personal scrubs of any color are acceptable; no designs, cartoons, or hoodies
- All requested time off for the duration of the assignment must be submitted upfront — no more than 5 days of RTO will be approved
- Candidates with a permanent address in the following New York counties are not eligible for this travel assignment: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, and Washington
