Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Acute Inpatient Rehab position in Richmond, VA, requiring at least 2 years of rehab nursing experience and an active VA or compact RN license.

Details

  • Located on the 5th floor (5W Rehab) of an acute inpatient rehabilitation unit within a hospital setting
  • 44-bed unit staffed with RNs, LPNs, patient care techs, and a unit secretary
  • Patient ratios of 5–6:1 (RN) with tech ratios of 10–15:1
  • Equipment used includes Hoyer lifts, IV therapy, PEG tubes, tracheostomy care, peritoneal dialysis (PD), and wound care
  • Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour shifts)
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active VA or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute inpatient rehab nursing experience required
  • Candidates with SNF-only backgrounds will not be considered
  • US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
  • One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

  • Typical duties include medication administration and general med-surgical nursing care within a rehab setting
  • Med-surgical or telemetry nursing background is preferred
  • Navy scrubs required
  • The unit has received multiple Daisy Award recognitions and holds Joint Commission basic stroke certification
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
  • First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded, but 2 years of rehab experience is required
