Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Step Down (IMCU) position at a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center, requiring at least 2 years of experience and a background in high-volume hospital environments.
Details
- Work in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), unit 5J, of a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center
- Unit has 16–10 beds with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Patient population includes sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, Type 2 diabetes, substance abuse, and encephalopathy
- Experience administering Heparin drips required in this setting
- Night shift, 12 hours per shift, 4 shifts per week
- No on-call responsibilities
- Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
- Block scheduling is generally not approved
Requirements
- Active RN license — Georgia (GA) or Compact license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Experience in high-acuity, high-volume hospital environments required — candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
- Demonstrated ability to manage critical, fast-paced clinical situations
