  • 12-hour night shifts, 7p–7a; weekends required based on unit needs
  • Holiday coverage required based on unit needs
  • No on-call or standby requirement
  • Travelers are first to float and may be floated to like L&D units within the valley (approximately 20 minutes apart); true floating to a separate location is rare and notice is given prior to the shift

Requirements

  • Active ID or Compact RN license required; must be active at time of consideration — pending licenses will not be accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Required certifications (all must be active, no pending certifications accepted): BLS, ACLS, NRP, S.T.A.B.L.E. (taken at least once), and AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring
  • Experience in L&D, postpartum, and OR circulating required; triage experience strongly preferred

  • Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

  • Unit is well-supported with a Charge RN and Resource RN (neither carrying an assignment) plus a House Supervisor on every shift
  • CNA support available on L&D/PP/NICU 4–5 days and nights per week; unit clerk available 24/7

Pros

Ratios stay at 4:1 for tele.

Cons

Management is suboptimal. While accepting towards travelers, it does indicate the need for travelers and the turnover rate of their own core staff. Tread lightly
