Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (IMCU) night shift position at a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience in high-volume hospital environments.
Details
- Medical step-down / Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) setting within a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center
- Patient population includes Sepsis, Heart Failure, Hypertensive Emergency, Respiratory Failure, COPD, Chronic Kidney Disease, Type 2 Diabetes, Substance Abuse, Status Epilepticus, and Encephalopathy
- Patient ratio of 1:4 across a unit of 16–20 beds
- 12-hour night shifts, 4 shifts per week
- Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
- Block scheduling is generally not approved
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active RN license — Georgia (GA) state or Compact license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Experience in high-acuity, high-volume hospital environments with complex and severe cases required
- Background in large-scale trauma or similarly intensive settings strongly preferred

- This facility is a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center managing complex, fast-paced, and diverse cases
- Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals are not a strong fit for this position
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
