Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position in Kennewick, WA, requiring 3+ years of OR experience across multiple surgical specialties.
Details
- Hospital-based OR setting with 6 operating rooms at a 111-bed, Level III Trauma, academic teaching hospital in southeastern Washington
- Surgical specialties include General Surgery (robotic and laparoscopic), Urology, GYN, Spine, Orthopedics (including total joints, podiatry, and hand surgery), and Vascular
- Primary patient population is adult and geriatric
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Day shift schedule: 6:15 AM – 5:15 PM
- Call requirement of 7 calls per month, including at least 1 Saturday, 1 Sunday, and 1 holiday
- No floating required
- Stryker equipment used throughout the OR
- EMR: Paragon
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active WA or Compact RN license required
- AHA certifications required
- Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience
- Hands-on experience in most or all listed specialties: Gen Surg, Urology, GYN, Spine, Ortho, and Vascular
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates and placement
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates who are employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
- New Employee Orientation (NEO) dates are scheduled bi-monthly throughout the year — confirm your specific NEO date upon offer

This Cath Lab is only travelers at the moment and has locum doctors on rotation. Some days are very slow but there is also a couple IR doctors who does some easy procedures.
Cons
On call is currently 7 consecutive days on then you get 4 days off before going back on due to number of staff present.
