Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of experience in acute care, ER, and adult ICU settings for a 13-week day shift contract at a 300-bed community hospital in New Hampshire.
Details
- Work in an acute care community hospital with approximately 300 beds
- Respiratory therapy unit covering ER, adult med/surg, and adult critical care
- Patient population spans infants through geriatrics; neonatal experience preferred
- RT-driven protocol environment with responsibilities including nebulizer treatments, CPT, high-flow oxygen, NIV, cough assist, IPV, mechanical ventilation, continuous albuterol, and in-house transport of mechanically ventilated patients
- Assists with intubations and bronchoscopy procedures
- Peds ER and pediatrics coverage assigned only to candidates with demonstrated clinical competency; will not be placed in Level 3 NICU
- Uses Epic EMR — experience required
- Preferred ventilator equipment experience: Puritan Bennett, Draeger, Servo I, and LTV 1200/HT70
- Day shift: 6:15 AM – 6:45 PM (3x12-hour shifts)
- Every other weekend required; no on-call obligation
- Candidates within 50 miles of the facility are eligible at a local pay rate
Requirements
- Current NH state license required (license if applicable)
- Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience
- Required work setting experience: trauma, community hospital, ER, and adult ICU
- Preferred work setting experience: Level I Trauma, teaching hospital, PICU, and acute pediatric care
- Required clinical skills: airway management, medication administration, vent management, ABGs, O2 therapy, suction, pulmonary toileting, nebulizer therapy, BiPAP, and CPAP
- Bronchoscope experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Required certifications: BLS (AHA or Red Cross only)
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, PALS, CRTT, RRT
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Two professional references required for consideration (candidate may begin onboarding with one reference pending)

- Perform RT-driven protocols across multiple care areas including ER, med/surg, and adult critical care
- Conduct in-house transport of mechanically ventilated patients
- Candidates who are former employees of any SolutionHealth-affiliated facility are not eligible for this position, regardless of the length of separation or time previously worked
