Description

American Traveler is hiring a Neuro ICU RN with a minimum of 2 years of neuro ICU experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit of a teaching hospital environment
• Patient ratio estimated at 1:1-2
• Day/Night rotation shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:30 PM / 7:00 PM-7:30 AM), rotating every 4 weeks
• Requires working every other weekend
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Uses Epic EHR system

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Skills required: IV starts, telemetry, ventilator management, and intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring
• Additional relevant skills include arterial line management, central line and PICC line care, EVD and lumbar drain management, post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery care, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or supervisor and the second acceptable from a Charge RN; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to neuro ICU patients including those with CVA/acute stroke, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract; those within driving distance must travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location, while those farther away will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet
• RTO requests must be submitted with the contract and are limited to 7 days or less
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible to be hired as a traveler
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
