Description
American Traveler is hiring an IR Technologist for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring 2+ years of experience, including coronary, IABP, and Impella experience.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting in a combined Cath Lab and IR unit with 4 procedure rooms
- Handles 15–20 cases per day on average
- STEMI receiving center with high volume of STEMI cases; candidates must be comfortable with critically ill patients
- Procedures include coronary interventions, peripheral vascular, IABP, Impella, laser, rotablator, nitric oxide, IVUS, FFR, and angiojet
- Uses Merge Hemo system; Cath Lab uses Siemens/Philips equipment (helpful but not required)
- Cerner EMR
- 12-hour day shifts, every other weekend (EOW), first to float
- 30-minute on-call response time required
- No floating required within the unit
- 1–2 days of unit-specific orientation provided
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of IR/Cath Lab technologist experience
- Experience with coronary and peripheral circ procedures, IABP, and Impella is required
- Active ARRT certification, BLS, and Fluoroscopy Permit required — pending certifications will not be accepted
- Cerner EMR experience
- Active state or compact (NLC) license required if applicable — pending licenses will not be accepted
- Driver's license required for consideration
- 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
Additional Information
- Manager interviews are required for this position
- All MyJourney modules must be completed prior to arrival — no exceptions; failure to complete will result in a delayed start
- Perform coronary and peripheral interventional procedures, structural heart interventions, and support for critically ill patients including those on ventilators
- Charge nurse coverage during day shift; circulating nurse serves in a charge capacity after hours
- Cardiologist and respiratory therapist available on standby or working 24/7; pharmacy in-house 24/7
- Scrubs provided in teal blue
- Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates employed PRN through outside firms will be considered
- Experience with Merge Hemo system is a plus
