Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity COVID ICU (LRICU) travel assignment in San Antonio, TX, requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and active TX RN licensure.
Details
- Work in a 14-bed COVID ICU (2 South) within a large hospital setting in San Antonio, TX
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Three 12-hour shifts per week with rotating weekend requirement (every other weekend)
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Advanced procedures performed on the unit include ECMO, CRRT, chest tube insertions, and central line insertions
- ECMO NxtSTG equipment is utilized on the unit
- Documentation system: Meditech (experience preferred)
- No on-call requirements
- Floating to other units is required per the facility's floating policy
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active TX RN license required; temp licenses are not accepted
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Minimum 2+ years of recent ICU experience required
- Comfort with vasoactive drips and strong understanding of hemodynamics required
- ECMO experience preferred
- CRRT (NxtSTG) experience preferred
- Meditech EMR experience preferred
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- High-acuity unit specializing in COVID patients with advanced interventions including VV ECMO
- RNs are required to wear navy scrub top and pants; navy or white scrub jacket permitted
- Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited; body art should be covered whenever possible
- Hair should be neat and clean with no extreme styles or colors; beards and facial hair must be neatly trimmed
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
- First-time travelers are not mentioned as eligible; 2+ years of ICU experience is required
