Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in Lake Havasu City, AZ, requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and telemetry skills in an adult/geriatric acute care setting.
Details
- 13-week travel contract at a 171-bed Joint Commission accredited community hospital and regional referral center in Lake Havasu City, AZ
- Medical Surgical Telemetry unit with 40 beds serving an adult and geriatric patient population
- Patient types include total joint, surgical, ACS, CHF, CKD, alcohol withdrawal, SIRS, and GIB cases
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week scheduling period
- No scheduled on-call, though shifts may be flexed to on-call up to twice per contract as needed
- Floating to other units (IMC, ED) is expected
- EMR: Medhost
- Equipment includes Baxter IV pumps, Posey bed/chair alarms, Omnicell drug dispensing cabinets, and Zoll defibrillators
- Level III Trauma Center and Certified Chest Pain Center
Requirements
- Active AZ RN license or compact RN license required
- Current AHA certifications: BLS and ACLS required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Recent acute care telemetry experience required
- ADN or higher required
- Ability to manage a 1:6 patient ratio
- Travel nursing experience required
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
- Black scrubs (top and bottom) required; open-toed shoes are not permitted
- No block scheduling requests; 48-hour weeks may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Charge and preceptor experience is a plus
- Orientation is conducted weekly
