Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Progressive Care Unit Float Pool position in Chapel Hill, NC, requiring at least one year of nursing experience and active NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Float pool position covering all progressive care units within a large academic medical center, including Surgical, Neuro, Medicine, Cardiac, Cardiovascular, and Burn Center units
• May also float to acute care units as needed
• Patient ratios are 1:3 to 1:4 on PCU/Stepdown units, and up to 1:5 on acute care units
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week, 3 days per week
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact state license currently in hand
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA or ARC) required
• Current ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited nursing school required; BSN or MSN preferred

Additional Information

• Responsible for coordinating and delivering patient-centered care using the nursing process across a variety of progressive care specialties
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams for care planning, patient education, and discharge planning
• Performs bedside point-of-care testing as required
• Every other holiday (EOH) coverage required
