Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) position at a pediatric Level I trauma hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years CVOR experience and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Perioperative services CVOR unit within a 300-bed pediatric Level I trauma hospital with 16 OR beds
- Primary patient population is pediatric (ages 0–18), with the possibility of occasional adult cases
- Surgical cases span multiple services including cardiac, eyes (cataracts, vitrectomies, retina), general, ortho, neuro, ENT, urology, plastics, and burns
- Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts (0630–1700); days of the week will vary based on unit need and a block schedule cannot be offered
- Days off rotate; once established, travelers participate in a rotating weekend call schedule per the 6-week staff schedule
- Weekend call runs Saturday 0630 through Monday 0630 (48-hour period)
- May be required to work late to complete a case
- Floating is required to any unit within the nurse's competency, with the exception of cardiac and GI services
Requirements
- Active RN license — TN state license or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS and PALS
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required
- Minimum 2 years of pediatric experience required
- Circulating experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Experience in a Level I trauma hospital or similar high-acuity setting required
- Complete COVID-19 vaccine series or a valid exemption required by start date — no exceptions

- Scrubs are provided by the hospital's linen services
- Candidates will be interviewed by a manager prior to an offer being extended
