Description

American Traveler is seeking an Outpatient Physical Therapist for a critical access hospital rehab unit, requiring 2+ years of experience and BLS certification.

Details

• Setting is a critical care access hospital with a predominantly swing bed population
• Rehab-focused unit with a fully renovated rehab gym including kitchen and laundry setup for functional therapy
• Workflow ratio of one patient per hour
• Support staff includes approximately 2 CNAs per shift and a rehab tech available 20 hours per week
• Access to full lift equipment and diverse rehab equipment for treatment
• Documentation completed in Cerner
• Set schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• May float to an affiliated living center within the same building, with primary assignment at the main hospital site

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of physical therapy experience preferred
• Current BLS certification required
• Active PT state license required if applicable
• Strong rehab-focused treatment mindset with emphasis on hands-on treatment rather than evaluation only
• Comfortable performing comprehensive evaluations and treatments for hospital and swing bed patients

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities include evaluating and treating hospital and swing bed patients with a strong focus on rehabilitative care
• Ability to provide therapy sessions outdoors when appropriate
• Scrub attire accepted in any color
• No weekend or holiday shifts required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not eligible for this assignment
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration; Canadian SSNs are not accepted
