Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in the greater Seattle area, requiring a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
- Patient population includes Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, OB Triage, Antepartum, and Normal Newborn
- Staffing ratio of 1:1–3
- Specialized procedures include vaginal and cesarean deliveries, OR circulation, adult IV starts, blood/blood products administration, and management of drains, epidural pumps, and PCA pumps
- Medications include insulin and magnesium sulfate
- Equipment and care areas include high-risk and low-risk L&D, LDRP, antepartum, OB-GYN, pre-op/post-op, and couplet care
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
- Floating between facilities within the state is required
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or active compact RN license required
- Current BLS, FHM, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in LDRP, L&D, postpartum, and newborn care
- Skills required: OR circulation for C-section, fetal heart monitoring (FHM), and IV start
- Epic EMR experience required
- At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include circulating in the OR for cesarean sections, fetal monitoring, and comprehensive obstetric nursing care across L&D, postpartum, and newborn settings
- Travelers refusing to float between facilities may risk assignment termination
- Former permanent employees of any Providence-affiliated facility must be separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months before being eligible, and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Minimal RTO is strongly preferred; extensive time-off requests may impact the hiring process
- Any RTO or scheduling requests must be communicated prior to or at the time of submission, as post-offer requests may be denied
