Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with Level I trauma experience and critical care expertise within the last 12 months for a night shift travel assignment at a Magnet, teaching, Level I trauma hospital in Washington State.

Details

• Works across BPICU, SICU, MICU, and NSICU units serving patients of all ages, though the pediatric population is generally small
• High-acuity adult patient population including trauma, burns, neurologically complex cases, tracheostomy patients, spinal cord injuries, and complex sleep-disordered breathing
• Facility has a busy ED and receives ECLS transfers
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:30–07:00
• Every other weekend required
• Block scheduling available
• On-call not required
• Floating within scope not required
• Epic EMR — experience preferred but not required; must be willing to use Epic as a hard requirement of the facility
• Any solid color scrubs accepted; light blue scrubs also provided on the unit

Requirements

• Active WA state Respiratory Therapist license required (pending license not accepted); license required if applicable
• RRT credential required
• Minimum 2 years of experience, including Level I trauma experience
• Critical care experience within the last 12 months required
• Pediatric experience preferred but not required; must be open to pediatric training
• Teaching and trauma hospital experience preferred
• Required skills: ventilator management, monitoring, O2 therapy, and adult ICU and trauma patient care
• Required certifications: BLS
• COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions
• At least 2 prior travel experiences beyond initial hospital preferred
• 2 references required for consideration

• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rates with no radius restriction
• RTO cannot be requested during orientation week and should be kept to a minimum
• Former UW facility staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
• Onsite parking available at $15/day weekdays, $4/day weekends, $5 evenings, and $4 nights
• Offsite parking available at $10/day, approximately 1 mile from the facility with a 10-minute shuttle running Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–10:00 PM (not available nights, weekends, or holidays)
