Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with 2+ years of recent specialty experience, requiring active Kansas and Missouri (or compact) licenses for a position that includes floating between facilities.

Details

  • Work in an Interventional Radiology unit with additional support coverage in X-ray when IR census is low
  • Procedures include aortography, embolization, gastrostomy tube placement, IVC filter placement and removal, liver biopsy, mesenteric angiogram, paracentesis, pelvic angiography, percutaneous hepatic angiography, pulmonary arteriography, RFA of the liver, renal angiography, selective visceral angiography, stent placement, nephrostomy, vertebroplasty, uterine arterial embolization, ureteral stent placement, renal artery stent placement, central venous access/port placement, PICC lines, and upper/lower extremity angiography
  • Uses GE Innova IGS imaging equipment and PACS
  • Epic EMR — experience required
  • 5x8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM or 8:30 AM–5:00 PM depending on daily scheduling needs
  • Weekday call required 1–2 nights per week; weekend call required every 4–6 weekends
  • Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities
  • Local candidates are not accepted — candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of the facility are considered local and are ineligible

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent IR specialty experience required, with at least 1 full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months and no employment gap greater than 90 days in the past year
  • Active Kansas (LRT) and Missouri licenses, or a compact license, must be in hand at time of consideration — license required if applicable
  • Current BLS and ARRT (R) certification required
  • Proficiency in IR procedures, special procedures, PACS, sterile technique, equipment setup, access site prep, room circulating, and scrubbing to maintain sterile field
  • Experience with GE Innova IGS equipment required
  • Familiarity with isolation precautions/PPE and use of rapid response/code teams
  • 2 professional references required: at least one must be at the supervisor level or above, the second may be a charge RN; all references must be from individuals who have worked with the candidate within the past year
  • SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include scrubbing and circulating IR procedures, managing and accessing ports, maintaining central venous lines and PICC lines, stocking supplies, and supporting the care team across a broad range of interventional cases
  • Scrubs are provided by the facility
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Travel partners are not accepted for this position
  • RTO is capped at 7 days for the duration of the contract
  • Online compliance modules are required and must be completed prior to the contract start date
  • Candidates who are unwilling to float between departments, units, or facilities as needed may be subject to cancellation
