Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at an acute care hospital in Santa Rosa, CA, requiring trauma, neuro, vascular, and ortho experience along with Epic proficiency.
Details
- Work setting is an acute care hospital with 277 staffed beds
- Position is in the Operating Room (OR) department
- Trauma, neuro, vascular, and ortho cases due to the facility's trauma status
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts with variable start times of 7:00 AM or 9:00 AM
- Occasional night shift coverage may be required within the contract period
- Weekend work is required
- On-call is required and distributed equally among all nursing staff approximately every 6 weeks, potentially up to 6–8 on-call shifts per 6-week cycle (including nights, evenings, and weekends)
- Floating between all facilities within the state is required
- Charting is performed using Epic (required)
- Scrubs are provided for OR
- Free parking is available on-site
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required (pending license not accepted)
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
- Experience in trauma, neuro, vascular, and ortho cases required
- Epic EMR proficiency required
- At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission; requests made after submission or offer may be denied
- Block scheduling requests are subject to manager discretion
- Refusal to float between facilities may result in assignment termination
