Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in northern New York, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and a NY RN license in hand.

Details

• Work in a combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department
• Patient ratio of 1:3 on all shifts
• Day shift schedule: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM (3x12-hour shifts)
• 13-week contract
• Documents charting in Epic; medications dispensed via Pyxis; communication follows SBAR protocol
• Skills utilized include triage, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, IV placement and maintenance, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, CVA and head injury care, ventilated patient care, BiPAP/CPAP management, and isolation precautions/PPE

Requirements

• Active NY RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Experience with combined Adult/Pediatric ED setting required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Orientation is 48 hours
• RTO requests are limited to a maximum of 7 days for the duration of the contract; all requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
• No scrub color requirements
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
