Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery (Birth Center) position requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and comfort with postpartum care on a 12-hour night shift schedule.
Details
- Birth Center unit within a hospital setting
- 12-bed L&D unit with 8 PP/Antepartum beds (including 3 OB/ED rooms and 2 ORs), and a 6-bed Level II NICU
- 20 total beds in the unit
- Patient population includes laboring patients, antepartum, and postpartum mothers and newborns
- EMR: Epic (strongly preferred)
- 12-hour night shifts
- 36 hours per week
- No on-call requirements
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active WA or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring
- Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required
- Must be proficient in cervical exams, antepartum and labor management, amnioinfusions, epidural support, fetal monitoring, IV placement, and Pitocin administration
- Must be able to circulate C-sections
- Must be comfortable with baby catching/receiving and APGAR scoring
- Breastfeeding knowledge required
- Comfort with all aspects of postpartum care from transition through discharge for both mother and baby strongly preferred
- Epic EMR experience strongly preferred
- Two supervisor-level references required prior to start (one reference accepted at time of consideration)
- WA or Compact RN license may be pending at time of consideration if proof of application is provided
Additional Information
- Provides care across the full continuum of L&D, including antepartum, active labor, C-section circulating, postpartum, and newborn care
- A Scrub Tech is always on-site; scrub-trained RNs may be utilized occasionally for sick call coverage (scrub experience is a bonus but not required)
- NP is available on call for support
- Multilingual ability in Russian or Spanish is preferred given the patient population
- Teal scrubs are provided by the facility
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
