Description
American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a short-term acute care hospital, requiring at least 1 year of experience and proficiency in a broad range of nuclear medicine and nuclear cardiology procedures.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting in a Nuclear Medicine department
- Adult and Nuclear Cardiology patient population
- Procedures include gastric emptying, HIDA scan, MUGA scan, 3-phase bone scan, whole body bone scan, liver imaging, perfusion, ventilation/perfusion, exercise/rest-multiple, and pharmacological stress testing
- Ability to start and maintain peripheral IVs and follow isolation precautions required
- Proper storing, handling, and disposal of radioactive materials required
- Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Rotating on-call required, covering one full week at a time including all after-hours, Saturdays, and Sundays
- Charting via Cerner (experience required)
- Free parking on-site
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience
- Experience in adult and Nuclear Cardiology settings required
- Current BLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted) required at time of consideration
- CNMT or NMTCB certification required and must be in hand at time of consideration
- Active IN or Compact state license required; license required if applicable
- Cerner EMR experience required
- 2 supervisor references required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates (IN residents) are accepted
- Up to 5 days of RTO can be auto-approved
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Travelers may be required to float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate facility
- Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have been away for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive break to reset eligibility — out-of-state residents require a 90-day break and in-state residents require a 180-day break, effective 2/24/26
- This role requires someone who can multitask effectively and work collaboratively as part of a team
