Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at a critical access hospital in Vermont, requiring a minimum of 2 years of perioperative experience and an active VT or compact RN license.
Details
- Critical access, community, not-for-profit acute care hospital setting
- Perioperative unit covering pre-operative, intraoperative, and post-anesthesia care (PACU)
- Role requires versatility across multiple functions: circulator, scrub nurse, and PACU RN
- Monday through Friday schedule with on-call rotation
- On-call rotation includes one night per week and every fourth weekend
- Must be available to respond and be ready to begin a case within 30 minutes when on call
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active Vermont or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of perioperative (OR) experience required
- Current certifications required: BLS/BCLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Graduate of an accredited RN nursing program
- Ability to function across multiple perioperative roles
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and critical thinking skills
Additional Information
- Provide perioperative nursing care across all surgical phases including pre-op, intraoperative, and PACU recovery
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated patient care
- Adhere to AORN standards and participate in surgical safety processes such as time-outs
- Cross-training opportunities available to support skill development across perioperative roles
- Travelers begin their assignment on Wednesdays
- DOB and SSN may be required for consideration
