Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at a critical access hospital in Vermont, requiring a minimum of 2 years of perioperative experience and an active VT or compact RN license.

Details

• Critical access, community, not-for-profit acute care hospital setting
• Perioperative unit covering pre-operative, intraoperative, and post-anesthesia care (PACU)
• Role requires versatility across multiple functions: circulator, scrub nurse, and PACU RN
• Monday through Friday schedule with on-call rotation
• On-call rotation includes one night per week and every fourth weekend
• Must be available to respond and be ready to begin a case within 30 minutes when on call
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Vermont or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of perioperative (OR) experience required
• Current certifications required: BLS/BCLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Graduate of an accredited RN nursing program
• Ability to function across multiple perioperative roles
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and critical thinking skills

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across all surgical phases including pre-op, intraoperative, and PACU recovery
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated patient care
• Adhere to AORN standards and participate in surgical safety processes such as time-outs
• Cross-training opportunities available to support skill development across perioperative roles
• Travelers begin their assignment on Wednesdays
• DOB and SSN may be required for consideration
