Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a regional tertiary care facility, requiring at least 2 years of experience and OR circulating experience.
Details
- 13-week travel contract in a hospital Labor & Delivery unit
- Unit features 14 L&D beds, 6 triage beds, 2 operating rooms, 2 recovery beds, and 2 high-risk antepartum beds
- Supports both low-risk and high-risk obstetrics, serving as a regional tertiary care unit and receiving port from outlying hospitals
- Day shift schedule: 3x12 hrs, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, weekdays with every other weekend required
- Floating to Mother Baby unit required as needed when not needed on L&D
- Documents using Cerner (experience required), Surginet, and Fetalink
Requirements
- Active WV or compact RN license required; pending state license accepted
- Minimum 2 years of L&D RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
- OR circulating experience required
- Fetal heart monitoring (FHM) and IV start experience required
- Triage and scrub skills are a plus
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Must provide a Driver's License and Social Security card for consideration
- Minimum of 2 manager or charge nurse references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Nurses collaborate with midwives and physicians to support the full spectrum of childbirth experiences, from minimal intervention to major complications
- No blocked schedule requests will be accommodated
- Scrub color: Royal Blue
- Candidates must live more than 100 miles from the facility to qualify; exceptions may be requested on a case-by-case basis for candidates between 75–99 miles away
- Local candidates are not accepted
- Flu vaccination is required during flu season (October 1–March 31); a documented medical allergy on file with an allergist or physician is the only accepted exemption
- Candidates must complete a respirator fit test using an approved mask prior to starting; candidates may need to travel up to 100 miles to complete this requirement
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on years of experience
- Former permanent employees of this health system must have a 2-year gap since their last day of permanent employment before being eligible to work as a traveler
