Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) with at least 2 years of experience for a 13-week night shift contract at a Chest Pain and Stroke Center hospital in Charlotte, NC.
Details
- Work in the Respiratory Care department of a 337-licensed-bed hospital with Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center designations in Charlotte, NC
- Adult and NICU patient population (no pediatric)
- Department sees 300+ patients per day
- 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend rotation
- Floating is required across Region 2 facilities, including Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, any Freestanding ED within the region, and the Central Division (CMC Main, CMC Mercy, and Levine Children's Hospital)
- EMR: Epic
- Equipment includes Servo ventilators (I, U, and Airs), Trilogy, ResMed AirCurve, HiFlow, Airvo, NOXbox, and bubble CPAP
Requirements
- RRT or CRT credential required
- Active NC Respiratory Therapy license required (license required if applicable)
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP
- Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience, with at least 12 months of core experience in the specialty area and most recent experience within the last year
- Experience required across multiple care settings: Critical Care, CVICU, NICU, ED, Progressive Care, and all floor therapies
- Must reside 50+ miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates who have worked a permanent position at any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being considered
- Orientation includes facility NEO and 2 days of departmental training
- Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays
- Floating mid-shift between facilities is compensated with travel time paid
- No on-call or call-back requirements
- Supported by Respiratory Care Leadership and staff; teamwork and adherence to department culture and values are emphasized
