Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Stepdown position requiring an OH or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of pediatric cardiac stepdown experience.

Details

• Pediatric Stepdown unit within a large children's hospital setting
• Patient population includes pediatric cardiac cases — both medical and surgical, including post-op cardiac catheterization and post-CTICU patients
• Specialized procedures include management of trachs/vents, high-flow nasal cannula, inotropes, and heart and lung transplant patients
• Day and night rotating schedule in 6-week intervals, with shifts running 4x12-hour days (7:00–19:30) or nights (19:00–7:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to other units is a standard expectation for this position

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric cardiac stepdown experience required
• Two supervisory references required for consideration — at least one must hold a manager or supervisor title (charge nurses do not qualify)

• Local candidates are not accepted for RN positions — candidates must reside outside the local area to be eligible
• Candidates who have worked permanently for this health system within the past 2 years are not eligible
• No call/no-show incidents are taken very seriously and may result in termination upon a second offense
