Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery (Delivery Room) position working night shifts at a hospital in Wichita, KS, requiring at least 1 year of acute care L&D experience and current NRP and AWHONN certifications.
Details
- Night shift position, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 13-week seasonal travel contract
- 26-bed Delivery Room unit performing C-sections, inductions, AROM, IUPC, DFM, and Doppler procedures
- Patient ratios: 1:1 for high-risk labor and C-sections; 1:2 for antepartum, PPROM, PTL on mag, and postpartum on mag; 1:3 for postpartum mag (no baby) and outpatients
- Equipment used includes Alaris pumps, PCA pumps, Monica Novii telemetry, and CPN (GE) monitors
- EMR: Meditech and CPN
- Self-scheduling model in place
Requirements
- Active KS RN license or compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care hospital L&D RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (Advanced 9th Edition, AAP card), and intermediate or advanced AWHONN fetal monitoring or NCCEFM
- Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required if from Florida or Missouri)
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Preferred experience includes circulating C-sections and high-risk LDR
- Unit follows a team nursing approach where nurses actively support one another
- Strong, experienced leadership team that is supportive and able to work the floor as needed
- Unit staff includes many tenured nurses with 20–40 years of experience
- A new OB Hospitalist program provides attending support to the residency program and nurses working triage
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position
