Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and active ACLS, PALS, BLS, and TNCC certifications on night shifts.

Details

• Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED) setting with 8 beds
• Daily staffing includes 6 staff members; night shift is staffed with 2 RNs
• Patient ratio of 4:1
• Cares for both high and low acuity ED patients
• Procedures include medication administration, critical patient care, and lab management
• GE equipment used on unit
• EMR: Meditech
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Requires 4 weekend shifts per schedule
• No floating required

Requirements

• Active VA or Compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (AHA or ARC accepted; no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• CPI certification required (SAMA, MAB, or ACPMA may be accepted in lieu of CPI)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ED nursing experience required
• Ability to care for critically ill patients
• ENPC preferred
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required if candidate is from Florida or Missouri)
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
• Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team
• Navy blue scrubs required
• 13-week contract
