Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and active ACLS, PALS, BLS, and TNCC certifications on night shifts.
Details
- Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED) setting with 8 beds
- Daily staffing includes 6 staff members; night shift is staffed with 2 RNs
- Patient ratio of 4:1
- Cares for both high and low acuity ED patients
- Procedures include medication administration, critical patient care, and lab management
- GE equipment used on unit
- EMR: Meditech
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Requires 4 weekend shifts per schedule
- No floating required
Requirements
- Active VA or Compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (AHA or ARC accepted; no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- CPI certification required (SAMA, MAB, or ACPMA may be accepted in lieu of CPI)
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent ED nursing experience required
- Ability to care for critically ill patients
- ENPC preferred
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required if candidate is from Florida or Missouri)
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
- Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Navy blue scrubs required
- 13-week contract

I come from the ICU so I don’t know if it was my lack of PCU experience but it feels like I have to BEG to the point of calling a rapid to have the residents and providers take initiative.
