Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Surgical unit position requiring at least one year of nursing experience and current AHA certifications.
Details
- Work in the Pediatric Surgical unit of a hospital setting
- Day shift schedule: 0645–1915 (12-hour shifts)
- 36 hours per week, 3 days per week
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license (OK state license or eNLC compact license) required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — AHA certifications only accepted
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills required
- Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
- Full date of birth (DOB) required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsible for an assigned group of pediatric surgical patients, including monitoring physiological data and intervening as necessary
- Administers medications and manages IV infusions and blood products as prescribed
- Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and physician orders
- Communicates care plans and hospital procedures with patients and families, including at discharge
- Delegates tasks to support staff and makes referrals to appropriate personnel as needed
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may only extend once for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation period is required before becoming eligible for a new contract
- Compliance requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must be initiated immediately upon offer acceptance — start dates will not be adjusted for non-compliance
