Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Surgical unit position, requiring active RN licensure and AHA-certified BLS and PALS.
Details
- Work is performed in the Pediatric Surgical unit of a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule: 18:45–07:15
- Three 12-hour shifts per week, totaling 36 hours per week
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active OK or Compact (eNLC) RN license required
- Current AHA BLS and PALS certifications required — AHA-issued certifications only
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Basic computer skills required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Full DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient group, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and documenting patient responses to nursing interventions
- Assists physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Communicates care plans and discharge information to patients and families
- Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible to apply; extensions are limited to one time for a maximum of 26 total weeks
- Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screening, background check, medical requirements) must begin immediately upon acceptance of an offer — the facility does not allow start date delays due to non-compliance
- BSN from a board-approved program is preferred
