Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR Scrub and Circulate position requiring 3–5 years of complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular OR experience with the ability to both scrub and circulate.

Details

• Hospital-based cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) setting
• Primary role is scrubbing, with circulating responsibilities also required
• Complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases including coronary artery bypass (primary and redo), aortic aneurysms, AVR and MVR (primary and redo), TAVR, ECMO, VADs, and more
• Adult patient population required; pediatric experience is a plus
• 13-hour day shifts, 6:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• 40 hours per week
• On-call is required
• Approximately 6–10 shifts per 6-week period, including approximately 1 weekend per month
• Free on-site parking available

Requirements

• Active VA or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
• CNOR certification preferred
• 3–5 years of recent scrub and circulating RN experience in complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases required
• Strong multitasking and critical thinking skills required
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work as a collaborative team member

Additional Information

• Must be able to scrub and circulate; primary responsibility will be scrubbing
• Involves participation in numerous ongoing research protocols
• Overtime may be required based on departmental needs
• Holiday coverage required: one summer holiday (Memorial Day, 4th of July, or Labor Day) and one winter holiday (Thanksgiving or Christmas) per department need
• All requested time off must be added to the end of the contract to ensure a full 13 working weeks
• Active participation in professional activities of the department is expected
