Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department night shift position in Springfield, MO, requiring at least 1 year of ED experience in a qualifying trauma facility.
Details
- 68-bed Emergency Department in a busy urban hospital setting serving as a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center, Level 2 Stroke Center, and regional STEMI center
- High-acuity patient population including trauma, stroke, STEMI, burn, and pediatric cases, with 200+ patients per day
- Routine patient ratio of 4:1, subject to change during surge or other circumstances
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 13-week assignment
- Weekends required as determined by facility
- No call or on-call requirements
- No floating required
- EMR: Epic
- Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
Requirements
- Active RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for Missouri licensure or hold a current MO or compact RN license
- Valid U.S. Social Security Number required; Canadian SINs are not accepted
- Required certifications (AHA only): BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC; NIHSS certification required prior to start (may be considered without it if obtained before start date)
- Minimum 1 year of ED experience in a Level 1 Trauma facility, OR minimum 2 years of ED experience in a Level 2 Trauma facility; trauma experience must be reflected on resume
- No gaps in employment of 90 or more days within the past 12 months
- Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift; must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs and pinch up to 15 lbs; kneeling, crouching, and crawling required minimally
Additional Information
- Provides direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation across all age groups
- Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes
- Experience with trauma, pediatric, and high-acuity cases is preferred
- Night shift orientation is conducted on day shift; candidate must be available for the entire orientation week
- RTO of up to 5 days is allowed but must be made up during the assignment; RTO will not be approved during the first week of the assignment, and only 1 holiday RTO request is allowed per assignment
- Flu vaccination or a Mercy-approved exemption is required from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible for the position but are subject to a reduced bill rate
- Black scrubs required; jeans and unprofessional attire are not permitted
