Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical Telemetry (7B) Night Shift position in Springfield, MO, requiring at least 1 year of inpatient telemetry experience and an active MO or compact RN license.
Details
- 32-bed Medical/Med-Tele unit, including patients with developmental delays
- Night shift schedule: 19:00–07:00 (7 PM–7 AM)
- Patient ratios: 1:5–1:6 on days, 1:6–1:7 on nights (ratios not guaranteed)
- Equipment used includes telemetry monitors, lift equipment, IV pumps, and tube feeding pumps
- EMR: Epic
- Weekend hours required per facility scheduling needs
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required on a rotational basis
- 13-week assignment
Requirements
- Active RN license in Missouri or a compact state license meeting MO eligibility requirements
- Valid U.S. Social Security Number required
- Current BLS certification from AHA required
- NIHSS certification required prior to start date
- Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient telemetry experience required
- Experience and competence in drug titration required
- No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift/turn patients with assistance; push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs; pinch up to 15 lbs
Additional Information
- Performs direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all age groups
- Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes
- High-risk exposure to blood and body fluids; standard infection control precautions apply
- Night shift orientation takes place on day shift; candidate must be available the full orientation week
- Black scrubs required; no other scrub colors are permitted
- Flu vaccination or a Mercy-approved exemption is required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but are subject to a reduced bill rate
- RTO of up to 5 days is allowed but must be made up during the assignment; no RTO approved during the first week, and only 1 holiday RTO request permitted per assignment
- This facility is a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center and a Level 2 Stroke Center
- Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment unless documented renewal is already scheduled
