Description

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for an Adult Rehab Services unit at an academic medical center, requiring acute and trauma experience along with a minimum of 1 year of OT experience.

• Acute and trauma experience required for this role

Requirements

• Active OT license required (license required if applicable)
• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy required
• Minimum 1 year of OT experience required
• Acute and trauma care experience required
• Current BLS certification issued by the AHA required
• Proficiency in planning, evaluating, and implementing individual and group occupational therapy treatment activities
• Basic computer skills required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include interpreting physician referrals, conducting patient evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans with short and long-term goals, and designing adaptive equipment and orthotic devices
• Assists patients and families with education on goals, progress, and home therapy plans, and supports discharge planning including equipment ordering
• May supervise OT students
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a new contract; extensions are limited to one time for a total of 26 weeks
• This facility enforces strict compliance deadlines — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon accepting an offer
