Description
American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for an Adult Rehab Services unit at an academic medical center, requiring acute and trauma experience along with a minimum of 1 year of OT experience.

- Adult Rehab Services unit at an academic medical center in Oklahoma City, OK
- Day shift, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 40 hours per week
- Patient population includes adults requiring occupational therapy across areas such as independent living skills, occupational performance, prevocational work adjustment, educational skills, and psychosocial skills
- Acute and trauma experience required for this role
Requirements
- Active OT license required (license required if applicable)
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy required
- Minimum 1 year of OT experience required
- Acute and trauma care experience required
- Current BLS certification issued by the AHA required
- Proficiency in planning, evaluating, and implementing individual and group occupational therapy treatment activities
- Basic computer skills required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include interpreting physician referrals, conducting patient evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans with short and long-term goals, and designing adaptive equipment and orthotic devices
- Assists patients and families with education on goals, progress, and home therapy plans, and supports discharge planning including equipment ordering
- May supervise OT students
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a new contract; extensions are limited to one time for a total of 26 weeks
- This facility enforces strict compliance deadlines — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon accepting an offer
